Aims
- To build creative capacity in Canadian arts and learning.
- To strengthen bridges between all interested stakeholders.
Outcomes
- discuss and identify guiding principles that lead to specific actions in all four areas of the Symposium.
- articulate an informed, inclusive relationship between artists and teachers in arts education.
- facilitate an inclusive informal pan-Canadian national network of all interested in arts learning.
- articulate accepted components for teacher education in all the arts.
- promote partnerships among teachers, artists, community organizations, concerned institutions, arts funders and others.
- promote a national centre of research or information about arts learning across Canada that is a clearing house available to all.
- promote an ongoing web-site forum of dialogue about all national issues that will continue beyond the account set up for the Symposium itself.
- make recommendations to feed into the agenda of the next international arts education conference.
