Born in Vancouver, Canada, I lived and worked in Europe and Asia for many years but currently reside on the West Coast. I'm a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and I exhibit in the Federation Gallery on Granville Island in Vancouver. Living in Europe, especially in Paris, provided a rich environment to study art and allowed me to determine and refine my aesthetic concerns. Today, my interest as a painter centres on the depiction of forms and the relationships of objects. I'm not interested in illustration; I'm concerned with re-constructing images previously encountered that have been allowed to distill for a time. Memory is a tricky thing and objects have a way of metamorphosing as we move further away from them. This allows the artist to reject a traditional relationship between actual and painted forms. In my work, I strive to paint objects that take on their own kind of reality.
