Janice Evans began formal studies at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, School of Art & Design 1970 and continued fine arts studies during her travels as a military spouse, while also completing a BSc. A full-time professional painter, she works mainly in water based media exploring Vancouver Island. Her loose technique aims to capture her emotional reaction to the west coast imagery.
Evans exhibits with the Federation of Canadian Artists Vancouver Gallery on Granville Island, Nanaimo and Arrowsmith Chapters venues, and several galleries on Vancouver Island. Janice has also exhibited with the Sooke Fine Art Show and the CNIB Eye Appeal Exhibition.
A highlight was participating as one of 30 Canadian painters to exhibit with 30 Chinese artists as part of the National Crossing Boundaries Art Exhibition, Splendor of Canada 2015, to promote the development of appreciation, understanding and exchanges of arts and culture between Western and Chinese arts in Canada.
