The Iqaluit Music Society is a charity run by volunteers that live and work in Iqaluit. The Iqaluit Music Society has a 22 year history dedicated to promoting, supporting and providing music education to the youth of Iqaluit.

    We support our local schools volunteer choir directors by hosting an annual community wide Christmas Concert and a spring Chorale Festival with a guest choir conductor.

  • In-School Workshops

    We also host music workshops with various visiting music educators and professional musicians.

  • Camps

    We provide open access to all youth and young at heart who wish to learn more about music. We have volunteers who teach a fiddle and accordion club throughout the school year.

  • Workshops

    Each youth can choose to study two of the following workshops: Throat Singing, Drum Dancing, Fiddle, Guitar, Accordion, Singing, Xylophone, Percussion, Recorder, Band, and Dance.

Annual Summer Music Camp

We have hosted an annual weeklong music camp for over 120 youth for the past 22 years!!! Our camp is traditionally held the third full week in August each year.
