Sheatre believes in the power of theatre and the arts to change lives and help build a compassionate and healthy
society. Sheatre is a community-engaged arts organization with over 36 years of experience in creating and
presenting interactive, issue-oriented and celebratory theatre and the arts. Working primarily in rural and small
urban communities, Sheatre brings professional artists and community members together to collaborate in and
across multiple artistic disciplines. We provide safe, supportive and fun environments that give people (and often
vulnerable people) an opportunity to address high-risk social issues, and nurture a positive sense of community
using the arts to reflect and celebrate the creative spirit and strength in all of us. We are specialists in Forum Theatre
and interactive arts with live and online performances and workshops.

Sparkin' Art: a digital art studio project

We invited non-urban youth from Grey-Bruce region and beyond to learn from upcoming and seasoned arts professionals in a series of weekly workshops and then to take their turn at creating a digital storytelling project!

Their contributions (including original songwriting and illustrations) were developed for the project "Release the Fire Within" as a choose-your-own-adventure through videos on YouTube. We invite you to explore the stories of Legend and Joku, the participant-created avatars as they come face-to-face with a formidable force.

We will also be hosting an online Town Hall as our next event with a panel discussion on creating art and preventing burnout, as well as the drastic changes our industry has undergone and the effect that the pandemic has had on community arts.
