We created this handbook about assessment of arts and learning experiences through extensive research consultations with individuals and organizations providing learning in, through and about the arts in Canada. In the cumulative voices we heard, there was almost unanimous agreement that individuals and organizations need more guidance when it comes to the assessment of the arts and learning experiences they provide.
The handbook both promotes the assessment of arts and learning experiences and provides assistance in how to do it.
This handbook is just the first iteration of a living document. We want this to become a forum for which the arts and learning sector can submit exemplary assessment experiences, practices and reports. The handbook will thus help to build an aggregate, up-to-date picture of the Canadian sector in a field that is rapidly changing, as well as to facilitate the process of sharing best practices.
This handbook was commissioned by the Canadian Network for Arts & Learning / Le Réseau canadien pour les arts et l’apprentissage and was funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
