Launching the Discoverability Webinar Series

We are pleased to announce a free webinar series aimed at helping Canada’s arts and learning practitioners develop strategies to more effectively connect with the public – whether it be potential new students, audiences or collaborators. Throughout this series we will explore simple ways of promoting virtual art making and learning opportunities for the public, while also dissecting some of the best practices that have emerged throughout the pandemic’s surge in digital arts instruction.

We are able to offer this series thanks to the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, The Azrieli Foundation and other funders.

Simplifying Social Media - April 13 @ 1pm EST

How can a small arts organization or private teaching studio reap the powerful benefits of social media without spending hours online every week? In this instructive webinar, two of the sector’s most prolific social media specialists demystify the process of creating compelling content, best practices in posting across multiple social media platforms, advertisements, measuring your engagement, creating a simple social media calendar and more. After this webinar, you will better understand how social media can help you reach way beyond your social and geographical boundaries to engage new audiences and potential students.  Register here.

Virtual Shift: Pivoting to Digital Arts and Learning - April 27 @ 12pm EST

In this panel discussion, we will explore how organizations working in two very different contexts overcame seemingly insurmountable challenges to deliver meaningful arts experiences to students within a global pandemic.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music was one of the first music schools in the country to pivot to online learning at the onset of the pandemic. Through this panel discussion, we will explore some of the major challenges they encountered, ways they reached out to new virtual students, their accomplishments as well as their plans for moving forward post-pandemic.

On the opposite coast, the Labrador Creative Arts Festival faced a completely different set of challenges when shifting to an online format – from lack of reliable internet, to connecting school communities with remote artists, to video production from a distance and more. Throughout this discussion we will discover the steps they took to engage their students despite the odds.  Register here.
