International Arts Education Week is coming up from May 22 - 28, 2023. Designated by UNESCO in 2012, the week celebrates the arts, in their diversity, and arts educators which play a critical role in fostering and transforming humanity.
This year, The Canadian Network for Arts & Learning wants to Activate Arts Education in Canada by creating an online guide to promote and showcase activities happening across the country, both in schools and communities. Let us know if you are hosting:
- Workshops or lessons in schools (all grades)
- Community workshops or activities (especially if they are free)
- Performances, exhibits, showcases and other opportunities for people to experience or learn the arts
- Classes for community members (all ages!)
Submitting an Event
Go to our Create Event page to add all of the details about your event. Make sure that it is happening around the week of May 22 - 28, 2023! Under Event Type, select "International Arts Education Week" so that we will know to include it in the guide.
To promote the week, we will send out a press release to raise awareness of the many benefits of learning and participating in the arts. Help us spread the word by sharing widely, uploading your events and using the hashtags #ArtsEdWeek2023 and #ActivateArtsEd on social media.
