In 2022, we began to offer in-person Eduarts Hubs again as the world started to re-open after the pandemic. We also offered the opportunity for people to observe the presentation sessions virtually through a hybrid format. Please enjoy the video recordings of these sessions below.
Vancouver
On October 17th, 2022 we partnered with the VSO School of Music and the Health Arts Research Centre on a very special Eduarts Hub. In this session, Marion Erickson gives a presentation called Creative Anti-Colonial Social Justice: Introducing Work by the Health Arts Research Centre (HARC). Indigenous filmmaker Kelly Roulette also discusses her film called "My Mother My Rock". The presentations were followed by a Q & A session.
Labrador
On November 19, 2022, the Canadian Network for Arts & Learning partnered with the Labrador Creative Arts Festival and Small Economy Works on an Eduarts Hub in Goose Bay, Labrador. The event included a sixty minute presentation by Rachael Borlase and Haley Alakan White from Small Economy works on how young Indigenous artists across the North are turning their artistic skills and talents into thriving small businesses. It encouraged participants to think about their stories, talents and gifts as a way to shape their future and their communities. The only video from this part of the event is a powerpoint presentation. This session was followed by a Caribou Tufting Instructional Workshop led by artist Haley Alakan White, which is posted below.
The 2022 Eduarts Hubs series was offered due to a Digital Strategy Grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.
