Alcohol Ink

Alcohol Ink is a fluid liquid, heavily saturated colour with a beautiful dreamy movement, painting technique and is also the name for colors based in alcohol. NO PREVIOUS ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! That is the magic of Alcohol Inks! You can make art on Opus Stone Paper, Yupo paper, or ceramic tiles. Unlike acrylic paints, alcohol inks can be “revived”. This means that when dried ink comes into contact with fresh ink or pure alcohol, it reacts and can be further processed.

If you are sensitive to odours, you may want to avoid this class as the inks are diluted with rubbing alcohol. Please wear paint clothes and gloves.

About the Instructor:

Taisha Teal has exhibited all over Vancouver and Internationally. She loves painting live at charity events and volunteers her spare time with children in need. She has been an artist all her life, starting with when she could play with her food. Taisha’s mother is an artist so her childhood was surrounded by all different kinds of art. Every birthday she had when she younger was like an art program, she had sections in their house for clay-making, beading, sewing, painting, drawing, cake decorating, basically, you name it, she did it!

Taisha is a certified Art Therapist, Artist and professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association. She has a BA in Psychology from Simon Fraser University, an Art Therapy Diploma from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, and is currently continuing studies at Emily Carr University as an Artist. Taisha is represented by Hollyburn Gallery in West Vancouver and Art Vancouver Gallery in the Bentall Centre.

Taisha’s vision with art is to induce positive emotions and radiate inspiration with every brush stroke, to expose the creativity in everyone. Art gives meaning to our lives and helps us understand our world. It is an essential part of our culture because it allows us to have a deeper understanding of our emotions; it increases our self-awareness and allows us to be open to new ideas and experiences.
