  The London Artist in Residence program gives London-based teachers and professional artists the opportunity to collaboratively develop and co-deliver arts projects in elementary schools in the London region. LAIR focuses on students' exploration and practice of the "creative process" as outlined in the Ontario Arts Curriculum.

• Residency
  
  London Artist in Residence (LAIR) Teachers and artists work collaboratively to bring students creative process experiences that are rich, dynamic, and (where possible) integrated with the core curriculum. This collaboration in arts education provides professional development opportunities not only for artists but for teachers. Arts experiences can be a catalyst for student learning and can bring out hidden strengths, especially for students struggling with traditional teaching methods. Students’ ability to use the creative process effectively and independently enhances skills and expression not only in the arts but also—as research has shown—in other academic subjects that require critical analysis, problem-solving, planning & organization, perseverance, and divergent thinking.

• Field Trips
  
  Culture City introduces young hearts and minds to city-building, civic engagement, and citizenship through the frame of arts. The program's five-day, multi-venue field trips immerse students and teachers in the best of London’s culture, offering opportunities to learn from professional artists, city and community leaders, and social innovators and to engage in hands-on experiences that cannot be replicated in the classroom. A typical Culture City itinerary incorporates more than thirty activities at over a dozen organizations and cultural sites in London, including the following: Experiencing a medicine walk led by a local Indigenous artist. Interpreting stories from London’s history under the guidance of a theatre professional. Breakdancing, song-writing, and improv-ing with professional dancers, musicians, and actors. Learning about the revitalization of Old East Village from community leaders involved in arts and culture, food production and stability, and social services. Scheming and dreaming about public art, urban design, and parks planning at City Hall—then engaging in mock debates on landmark decisions made by current and previous city councils. Becoming budding photojournalists. At the beginning of every Culture City week, students are given cameras and photography instruction. Motivated by daily photo challenges, they make sense of London through a new lens and capture its vibrant downtown core.

• Outreach Programs
  
  Belong to Song is a weekly drop-in music jam for those with lived experience of mental illness. It is held every Thursday from 1 pm - 3 pm at My Sisters’ Place. Each jam session is attended by 20 - 25 participants in various stages of recovery and with a wide range of musical abilities. A peer facilitator, a professional musician, and a core back-up band work together to engage participants in music making. All musical genres are welcome and appreciated.
