Composition and the organization of free improvisation are central to current pursuits. Large scale projects include a Fredericton Community Improv Choir and Orchestra along with compositions for Christine Duncan’s Element Choir in Toronto. Joel LeBlanc toured North America and Europe from 1997-2009 with the roots trio Hot Toddy. He is the recipient of numerous ARTSNB creation grants as well as funded residencies. Currently, he runs a trio dedicated to the music of jazz legend, Thelonious Monk.
