Margaret Shaw-MacKinnon has an M.A. in English and has taught English and Children's Literature at the University level. For over twenty-two years, she has had the privilege of teaching students from K to 12 in the public school system through the Manitoba Arts Council's Artists in the Schools Program. She has gone into numerous Winnipeg area schools, as well as rural and Northern schools as far North as Brochet, MB. She is a specialist in teaching Literature, Story Writing, and Illustrating.
In 2016 and 2017, Margaret participated in Creative Manitoba's workshop series, ozhitoon jii-miigiweng, bringing teachers and artists together to learn about Indigenous knowledge and art, and the integration of Indigenous teachings into their programs in schools.
