Manitoba Opera is Manitoba’s only full-time professional opera company and serves a region that includes northwestern Ontario, Saskatchewan, and the Dakotas.
Manitoba Opera celebrated its 35th Season in 2007/08 by presenting the world premiere of an opera commissioned by the company, Transit of Venus. This was the first time that Manitoba Opera has commissioned a full-length opera for the main stage.

    Study guides Opera Trunks are filled with costumes, props, activities, books, DVDs, CDs, and a study guide. They're free of charge and can be borrowed for 3 weeks at a time.

    Schedule allowing, Manitoba Opera visits schools with a touring production. Dates and cost vary depending on the production.

  • In-School Workshops

    Bring an opera singer to your classroom! Students will participate in hands-on learning activities which explore storytelling through music and experience the power of live operatic singing.
