Lynn Branson

Biography Lynn Branson
As an Interpretive Sculptor of wood, Lynn Branson finds inspiration in the line, form, and shape discovered in each treasured piece of her chosen medium. Lynn developed a passion for wood early in life, her first studio being a converted chicken house with straw walls. Living on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, the Ocean, Forest and Alpine areas are close at hand. Habitat for wildlife is dramatically beautiful and, to Lynn, fragile and vulnerable. Lynn's sculptures portray living creatures of the Natural World, a World she feels a deep commitment to. Conveying this beauty is a main objective in her art. Lynn is a signature member of Artists for Conservation.
Lynn has exhibited Internationally. In 2010 she won Best In World Interpretive with "Phantom of the Forest-Great Horned Owl". Lynn repeated her Best in World Interpretive win in 2012, 2013, and 2017, as well as a number of Silver & Bronze Medals. The only woman, in the 50 year history of the Ward World Carving Competition to win Best in World, Lynn was presented with a Living Legends Award, 2019, in recognition of her contributions to WildFowl Art.

Lynn is represented by the Peninsula Gallery in Sidney B.C. Canada.
