Sandy Hughes was born in Victoria B.C., and moved to Vancouver in 1986. A registered nurse for 20 years, she has a love for anatomy and figurative painting. Sandy was inspired to study the figure while completing fashion design at Helen Lefeaux. A student of Emily Carr University, and studying under gold medal portrait artist Jeremy Lipking in California she reveals a passion for color and movement in nature and the human form. Sandy’s artwork can be seen in several private and public locations throughout British Columbia’s Lower Mainland and New Zealand.
