K.I. Press grew up in Alberta. She went to the Universities of Alberta, British Columbia, Ottawa, and Simon Fraser University. Her first publication was either the poem "Greenhouse" (Dandelion, 1995) or the short story "Little Do You Know" (Other Voices, 1995). Her first book was Pale Red Footprints (Pedlar Press, 2001) and her most recent Exquisite Monsters (Turnstone Press, 2015). So far, she's mainly published poetry, but is working on that. She teaches writing in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
