Joyce Saunders is a singer of multiple genres, including music for children, flamenco, folk, and music for church gatherings. She was part of the popular children's nature-themed group The Wilderbeats from 2001-2016 with Kejimkujik National Park interpreter and musician Ashley Moffat (aka Little Miss Moffat) and later, Shannon Lynch, with whom she shares a background in youth-focused environmental education. Saunders' workplace background includes Halifax Regional Municipality's Adventure Earth Centre, the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, Freewheeling Adventures (guiding cycling tours), and Halifax's Discovery Centre. As "The Wilderbeats", Saunders and Moffat recorded two albums of clever, catchy songs about nature for the young and young-at-heart. Currently, Joyce offers a varied musical show with percussionist Glenn Fraser, performing her original Wilderbeats tunes and public domain favourites.
