My work is inspired by the extraordinary beauty of Canada's west coast: the scrolls of rainforest foliage, swirls of sea patterns, stretches of sandstone beaches with weathered driftwood and the repetitive drops of rain. I like to work in acrylics on large canvas and to experiment with mixed medium. When I paint, I step inside the landscape to explore the delicate co-existence of ecosystems, examining the remarkable resilience of nature and the human spirit. The resulting abstractions have been described as organic interpretations... a close-up look at the complex life systems we all rely upon to work silently together.
