Terraleen Hrycun's love for painting started when she was a young girl growing up in Whitehorse, Yukon, where she then carried on her studies for art attending school at FH Collins Secondary and received an extensive education under the direction of Lillas Farley. She then attended the Whitehorse Vocational Fine Arts program under Ted Harrison. Terry also studied Fine Arts at Okanogan College in 1976.
She has taken many classes from different instructors, from the University Extension Program to private painting retreats, along with many workshops learning new techniques in a multitude of mediums.
