My work is an ever-seeping response to the history I have established with the media, it is a deconstruction of the media as a language resulting in the essence of the work relying solely on the techniques and colour used in each piece. The history of each painting is created by the juxtaposition between early spontaneous washes and methodical impasto areas that are layered to an extent that the result is a conversation that is both bold as well as intimate. The language is informed by my experience of certain techniques coupled with my inherent need to explore new approaches and form new colours. The deconstruction of this language of the media has become my historical dialect yet remains accessible to all.
