Mrugakshee began her music career as a student of the Suzuki method at the age of 9. While growing up in India, she was part of the India National Youth Orchestra and the Canada-India Youth Orchestra. She went on to assist her violin teacher at the age of 16, where she discovered her love for teaching. Upon moving to Nova Scotia in 2014, she became a member of the Scotia Suzuki family in 2015.
