One of the most important things in Juanita's life is sharing music with others, whether through teaching piano or collaborating to make music. She has taught piano since high school to a variety of students. Whether it is watching a beginner student blossom in lessons or working on the finer points of music making with more advanced students, Juanita enjoys all aspects of piano teaching. She has been challenged in recent years to expand her teaching style to include games and is enjoying seeing students discover and review musical concepts through play. Several years ago, she began studying the cello and loves the challenge of learning another instrument.
Juanita has her Teacher's Associate degree (ARCT - 1997) from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta and she is a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association (ARMTA) and the Alberta Piano Teachers Association (APTA). She is always looking for ways to learn more about music and piano teaching and hopes to pass this inquisitive spirit onto her students.
