Fana Soro is a musician, dancer and educator from Ivory Coast, where he was a member of the prestigious Ballet National de Côte d’Ivoire for nine years. He is now the creative director of Masabo and opened the Masabo Music and Dance Studio based in Vancouver.

West African Drumming and Dance

As a master percussionist, Fana will introduce traditional playing techniques of the djembé, West Africa’s most popular drum, as well as other hand-held percussion instruments. He will share call and response in various languages native to northern Ivory Coast.
