At the OCC, we are committed to providing an environment which enables musical growth and the joy of singing, while maintaining a safe experience for our choristers, staff, volunteers and families.
Mission and Vision
We are devoted to artistic excellence, community connection and, above all, to the joy of singing. Our mandate is to pursue these objectives and to continue to be one of the finest children’s choirs in Canada by:
Striving for choral excellence through professional choral training for children who have demonstrated musical aptitude;
performing regularly within the National Capital Region (“NCR”), as well as nationally and internationally;
promoting the advancement of children’s education in and knowledge and appreciation of choral music;
studying and performing a wide variety of repertoire, with a particular emphasis on the works of Canadian composers;
commissioning and performing new Canadian compositions for children’s voices;
in addition to vocal and musical training, our programs emphasize responsibility, character building and mentoring.
