  Our phenomenal facilitators are available to run professional development workshops on the basics of the Dandelion Dance™ Method for educators, social workers and other professionals that work with children and youth. In our workshops, participants learn how they can incorporate dance and creative movement into their own work in order to: - encourage students to explore their communities and the world around them - support students to use their lived experiences and individual perspectives in the creative process - model behaviours that teach students to celebrate each other’s unique strengths and perspectives - support student’s critical literary skills - cultivate authenticity, trust, and empathy between groups of students - support students in creating inclusive dance works based on their diverse experiences - support students social and emotional health - provide opportunities for students to share their work with others, thereby promoting the exchange of new ideas and challenging stereotypes

  Dandelion Dance Performance Company: Each year, a group of 12 diverse, socially conscious young women come together to write, research and choreograph their own dance works about the world around them. The Company explores a broad range of social issues like children’s rights, the environment, inclusion, hunger, stereotypes, body image, human connection, trust and more. Dance works often evolve from the personal stories and experiences of Company members themselves. The Company performs approximately once per month in venues large and small. In addition to schools and community centers, they perform at universities, national conferences and other events, and in distinguished venues such as the Senate Chambers. They have also toured to other parts of Canada, including Vancouver and Nanaimo, BC.
