Suitable for playwrights, composers or lyricists at all levels.
What makes a musical successful? In this interactive three hour session, instructor Scott White will reveal the common elements that link successful musicals, provide tools to analyze the form and structure of your project, and chart the steps of taking an idea from inception to the stage. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to write your first musical, or if you’ve already written a show and are looking for how to move it to the next level; at the end of this session participants will be provided with helpful resources that can be applied to your writing practice. Participants are encouraged to bring their story ideas to explore during this session.
Instructor: Scott White has worked in musical theatre as a performer, music director and writer (composer, lyrics and book on various projects) for over 25 years. He is the recipient of a Broadway World Award, Canadian Comedy Award and was nominated for a Dora Award for Outstanding New Musical for Top Gun! The Musical.
