Our Moderator is: SHANA MAYRA - Shana Myara is the director of the radical QTIBPOC body positivity documentary Well Rounded (2020 Toronto Inside Out premiere), and is currently developing the series Killjoy Comedy for CBC. She's the child of a Moroccan immigrant father and German-Jewish refugee mother, and her award-winning short fiction which appears in The Journey Prize Stories: The Best of Canada's New Writing (McClelland & Stewart) and Coming Attractions (Oberon Press) explores the themes of migration, belonging and queerness. She's the former artistic director of the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and former movies buyer for a cable TV network. She lives and works (in Vancouver) on the unceded lands of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
