Toronto

We were thrilled to partner with Young People's Theatre to offer this very special Toronto Eduarts Hub. On November 14, 2016, local arts and learning practitioners took part in a professional development session to learn exercises that can be applied to teaching arts-based activities in a variety of settings. Attendees enjoyed a time of networking, followed by a presentation and discussion of CNAL's mapping project.

There was a presentation and discussion regarding The Canadian Network for Arts & Learning's ‘Mapping Project’ – an innovative digital map representing arts and learning across Ontario. Through focus groups and guided discussion, participants were invited to help guide the development of this vital tool for arts and learning in Ontario.

The Hub started off with JUNO award-nominated Brazilian singer-songwriter and percussionist Aline Morales leading participants in call-and-response warm-ups and exercises.

Then YPT's resident artist educator Rob Kempson will facilitate a workshop/discussion on collective creation - where participants will use ensemble-based exercises focusing on the creation and development of new characters and original stories.
