I am drawn to seascapes, geological formations and archaeological sites.
My evocative acrylic mixed media imperfect paintings, are also inspired by an inner world of instinct and emotion to my environment. To understand or converse with my work, one must do it from the inside out.
Each artwork consists of multiple layers of colour, and texture, each layer partially visible through the next, often with a luminous quality.
My process is a combination of instinct, intuition, and spontaneous expression, through which I "find" a painting as much as I "make" it. Carefully building up significant form and colour over many layers, I seek combinations and qualities that elicit a strong aesthetic emotional response.
