Roy Tomlinson

I began drawing and painting as a youngster. Entering the Ontario College of Art in the late 1940's I came under the influence of teachers Jock MacDonald, Carl Shaeffer, and John Martin, who gave those students who wanted it, the ability to work and see through creative eyes. Along the way I discovered oriental art, architecture, and print making. After reading Frank Lloyd Wright's revolutionary (at the time) treatise on 'The Nature of Materials' all of the various avenues I was then exploring were joined into one road, which I have faithfully followed. Under the heading 'Professional Experience' are listed three of those avenues, each were and still are equally important to my growth as a creative individual.
