Amy Sallenbach is a multi disciplinary artist and pilot who has purposefully left the constraints of gravity behind, one way or another. Born in Calgary, adopted and raised in Lethbridge, she graduated with a BFA in Fibre from the Alberta College of Art and Design 2001, narrowly escaping attending her own final jury critique by going in to labor just after installing it. Thereby earning her the honorable distinction of "2nd best excuse to get out of your final crit" (the 1st place went to contracting flesh eating disease, she is content with 2nd place). She has exhibited throughout Western Canada and in private collections coast to coast. Currently a core member of the Tree Frog Collective in Edmonton, a multi generational, multi disciplinary, semi nomadic group of artists hosting events, seeking out and activating temporary spaces. Past collaborations include HIV Edmonton, Mile Zero Dance and Brass Monkey Productions.
