Since retiring in 2016, I have been exploring various mixed mediums and processes. I fell in love with working with altered paper to create paper collage. I use an eco-friendly cleaner to dissolve the ink in recycled magazine pages. The result is an interesting array of texture and pattern, some of which I manipulate to the desired result. As I sit at my studio table, the pages in front of me speak to me and inspire me. I mount the collage on Canadian made cradled birch panel. I have spent many months mastering this process. I love experimenting with different papers, gel mediums and pigments in my works. I have worked in mixed media, acrylic, pastel and oil.
