Xueyan(Laura) Liu graduated from Shenyang Conservatory of Music (China) with her master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Laura is a certified music teacher, mentor, adjudicator, examiner and senior instructor in China. With over 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her professional life to spreading her passion for piano to her students, students’ parents and friends.
Laura enjoys working with students of all ages and levels, and tailoring lessons to meet the individual goals of each student.She encourage her students to volunteer for community multicultural music events, and participate in piano exams, masterclasses and competitions to advance their piano skills and social studies. She also loves to experiment with different styles of playing the piano such as multi-hands playing and duet, making music fun.
After moving to Canada in 2015, Laura has been a piano instructor for Prep Studies at Desautels Faculty of Music (U of M), an RCM Certified Advanced Piano Teacher and RCM Certified Online Teacher, an Executive member of MRMTA, a member of Professional Development and Research Committee of CFMTA, as well as a member of WMF, CMEA, MTNA, SAA, OMEA, MMEA, CMC, CNAL, and FCCKP.
