Dave Mutnjakovic is an Artist ~ Teacher Living and working in the Laurentides, QC Canada.
I am a special education designer with a proven background in curriculum
design with at-risk youth, children and adolescents with behavioural issues, learning disabilities, and special needs.
My background in Community Art Education (B.F.A) from Concordia University,
trained me to adapt the school board curriculum and individualized education plans to
match the needs of students with social maladjustments, learning difficulties, and handicapped students
through creative initiatives.
My 2nd B.F.A in Film Animation and 4 years of experience teaching technology to diversified
learners has delivered me into rapidly changing systems of learning within our schools.
Technology is now intertwined at an ever increasing rate with how students learn, research,
and most importantly communicate with each other.
I have over 5 years experience as an educator for children and youth with special needs, I am currently
working the Community Learning Centre's in the Laurentian's where I have created Animation Programs
for students on the spectrum.
The past year I have created and implemented what I describe as creative art education
sessions in Alternative High Schools and Public Elementary Schools in Montreal, where I was particularly successful inspiring at-risk students to turn their life around.
Through my experience working in elementary and high schools across greater Montreal.
I found I was able to connect with my students through a hard work ethic and focused attention to detail.
The programs I delivered enlivened their spirit and gave them hope when all hope was lost.
His art exhibitions in Canada have awakened awareness of social taboos including mental illness, isolation, and the complexity of trauma.
