Music Teacher - Singing

As well as a career as Orff/Music Specialist in K - 7 Public Education since 1973, I have performed lead roles in Musical Theatre: Desert Song, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, A Little Night Music and others. I have studied Voice/Opera at the Banff School of Fine Arts and have been a member of the Vancouver Opera Chorus. I studied under Nona Mari (West Vancouver), Phyllis Mailing (Shawnigan School of Music), Selena James (Victoria Royal Conservatory), Courtenay Youth Music Camp, Edmonds Jazz Camp, and Joe Macerollo-accordion at Toronto University) Other performances have been in plays such as Lenny in Crimes of the Heart, Table Manners and others. I have a Bachelor of Music from UBC; an ARCT in Voice Performance from Royal Conservatory of Toronto and a Teacher's Certificate 5th year from Simon Fraser University.
I have conducted The Centennial Singers on B.C.'s Sunshine Coast, The Kimberley Community Choir and produced many school music productions. I served as Music Director and organist for the Cranbrook Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and was the street musician/singer for Kimberley's tourist season for nine years. I continue to perform as church soloist in Victoria, B.C when I travel there at least once a year and have taught Music Education for the University of Victoria at the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook.
