Joanne Diplock, music teacher
BMus, RMT - Piano, Theory, and Early Childhood Music Education, Registered Teacher of Suzuki Piano and Suzuki Early Childhood Education
Celebrating 45 years as a piano teacher, my love and enthusiasm for teaching music continue to grow. Currently in my home studio I offer lessons in both traditional and Suzuki piano, including preparation for conservatory exams in piano and theory. Many of my piano students enjoy playing a variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, pop or whatever their heart desires, and most really enjoy creating recordings of their polished works as we delve into the world of technology using my equipment at home. Experience has taught me that when we play music that we relate to and enjoy, musicianship, creativity and self-discovery are fostered. Students of all ages, including adults, are welcome!
As a student at the Faculty of Music many years ago, I was invited to join the Suzuki Music Faculty and took my first training in teaching early childhood music. Now, besides accepting piano beginners from ages 3 and up, I run three music and play programs in different areas of the city that are full morning programs one day a week consisting of a music class, snack and then play and craft time. If you are interested in finding out more about these programs, please email or call me at 204-589-062.
