The SPAO Centre houses the only 2 year photographic arts diploma in Canada, a unique 6 month international artist residency, numerous evening and weekend recreational classes and the only critical and independent gallery in the region dedicated to lens-based art. SPAO runs artist talks and special events throughout the year where you can connect with members of our active and dedicated photographic community. SPAO holds one of the most well-appointed darkrooms in the region and prides itself on teaching traditional darkroom and alternative processes alongside digital techniques.
