This is the latest in a series of blogs about Community and Art in these times. As writer, visual artist, musician I find myself applying what I've learned in 20 months of Masters study at Laurier as I work through the final four months of course work and research. My task is to ground academic theory in proactive function: projects and approaches that will benefit as many humans as possible (and therefore the planet) in these challenging times.

The Canadian Network for Arts & Learning is pleased to announce that we will be hosting two mapping Hubs as part of the SPARC Symposium 2018 in Cobalt, Ontario from May 24 - 27, 2018. SPARC (Supporting Performing Artists in Rural and Remote Communities) is a network whose purpose is to help ignite and sustain performing arts communities in rural and remote areas of Ontario.
Call For Proposals! Deadline Extended to March 9th.
Session proposals for the fourth International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC4) will now be accepted until March 9, 2018.
The ITAC4 Programming Committee is seeking proposals that present on the role, responsibilities and impact of teaching artistry, through presentations or practical sessions. Conference sessions should encourage critical reflection and participatory, hands-on exploration of the conference themes.
The Blyth Festival Young Company is a free program we offer to local young people for five- to six weeks in the summer. Essentially, the Young Company is composed of local teenagers, ages 13-19 (anywhere from 3-17 young people), and like everything we do at Blyth, emphasizes originality and creation based work.

Since 2013, The Canadian Network for Arts and Learning (CNAL) has presented our Eduarts Hubs, with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, to arts and learning communities across Ontario. On Thursday, March 2nd, we were thrilled to partner with the Winspear Centre in Edmonton to offer our first ever Eduarts Hub outside of Ontario.
The Canadian Network for Arts & Learning, in partnership with the UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning, is pleased to present a seminar by Dr. Ernst Wagner for an Eduarts Hub taking place on March 8th at Queen’s University.
