The Oakville Art Society was founded in 1965 and is a unique Canadian art institution.
The Society develops artistic skills and encourages art appreciation throughout the community. It presents local artwork through art events each year by providing venues for artists to display and sell work.
The Society offers visual art programs for artists of all levels so that adults, teens and children can discover the joy and excitement found in creative expression. Its members are professional and emerging artists as well as art lovers who help support and promote the arts.
The Society is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors. They take an active role in creating a Society that works with community partners to promote visual art as a positive influence in the community.
