The Professional Mentorship Program runs October 18, 2024 – May 8, 2025.
Open to mentees age 19-29, and professional mentors of any age, who reside in Winnipeg. Mentees approach a professional mentor of their choosing to pair with and they apply together. If you are a mentee who does not have a chosen mentor set up, email the program director by July 15 at mentor@creativemanitoba.ca for assistance to connect you to possible mentors to apply with.
This unique mentorship program builds a relationship between mentee and their chosen mentor, in a mentee centred, flexible program designed by mentee and mentor together in any artistic discipline (can be creative, administrative or technical). The program plan centres around conversation, work on specific projects together, setting up the mentee for independent work, connecting the mentee to others, and opportunities for professional development. It can include: work on specific projects, working towards career goals, specific skills, support in career decisions, shadowing work the mentor is doing, providing opportunities to connect with others in the industry, and more – all led by the mentee in conversation with their mentor. The pair will attend a set up session in October and an individual mid way check in with the Program director, to be scheduled together.
Mentees and mentors also benefit from the rare opportunity to connect across disciplines to other program mentorship pairs, attending the kick off orientation, final celebration evenings, as well as mentee connect nights and Creative Entrepreneurship day.
