As a master percussionist, Fana will introduce traditional playing techniques of the djembé, West Africa’s most popular drum, as well as other hand-held percussion instruments. He will share call and response in various languages native to northern Ivory Coast.
In a group songwriting experience, students explore and celebrate the things that make their classrooms unique by writing and recording their own classroom songs. Gary also helps schools compose ‘theme’ songs.
We invite Alice Sacharoff from Cat's Paw Pottery to come to teach our students all about pottery, She takes their finished projects home to fire in her kiln, brings them back for glazing and then takes them home a 2nd time for final firing.
