Join Saeed Teebi for a conversation about his debut book. Teebi’s gripping collection of nine short stories dives into the lives of Palestinian immigrant characters dealing with distinct circumstances, along with their attempts to assimilate and the guilt of leaving family behind. The stories submerge the reader into this unique immigrant experience in Canada, while exploring underlying universalities.

Join Adrienne Shadd for a conversation about her book. Meticulously researched and based on never-before-published information on the African-Canadian community of Toronto, this book recounts the journeys of brave travellers, and the network of clandestine routes and safe houses they traversed on the underground railroad seeking freedom in Toronto, and their captivating life after they arrive.

Join Tanya Turton for a conversation about her new book. Writing from multiple points of view, Turton deftly paints the portrait of Jade, a young woman grappling with the loss of her twin sister and navigating life as a young black queer woman in this comical novel that tackles relationships, race, sexuality, loss and becoming an adult.

NORTH SHORE ART CRAWL

The 2022 North Shore Art Crawl is returning as an in-person weekend event, taking place October 14-16, 2022. Come enjoy this free weekend event and connect with the arts on the North Shore!

Join STEPS Public Art, local artists and community members as we explore Rexdale’s Panorama! 

Activities include:

An outdoor summer event where artists showcase their work in two beautiful downtown Vancouver locations. Featuring live music, different artists every week, and live art demonstrations in the summer sun. Join us from July 6 - September 16 on Wednesdays at Lot 19 and Fridays at Jack Poole Plaza.  

We are excited to announce our return to a live summer festival from July 8 - 24, 2022!

For three weekends in July, the village of Elora will resound with live music once again, with performances by The Elora Singers, international guest artists, and celebrated Canadian musicians. 

Our line-up of over 30 concerts is second-to-none and showcases a variety of musical styles, ranging from solo artists to world music and small ensembles to mainstage attractions.
