Shahriyar Jamshidi’s special Kamānche recital will be a combination of improvisation and his compositions reflecting the not-well-presented musical heritage of Kurdistan - the vast area in the West Asia that is spread among countries of Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Syria. “Pomegranate Seeds” recital would be an exceptional musical journey to echo the authentic melodies of Kurdish nomad singers, Dengbêji (storytelling) on Kamānche while trying to adapt and translate that musical genre by crossing the boundaries across the musical themes and modes from Zagros mountains through Çiyayê Agirî (Ararat) mountain region in improvisation.
