raising voices is the vancouver island region’s very own youth outreach program dedicated to spoken word (aka slam) poetry. our poets offer workshops and performances that introduce students to poetry as something that’s valuable, empowering, and fun. our roster of poets includes award-winning published authors, national poetry slam all-stars, and some of the best emerging artists in canadian spoken word. employing a wide range of styles, our poets make poetry fun and engaging for everyone!
