Let's Paint a Bird Portrait. A Northern Cardinal is the perfect symbol of Christmas and makes a great gift for your loved ones. 

Rose Tanner is an award-winning artist who loves the outdoors and studying birds. She is dedicated to portraying her subjects using traditional oil painting techniques, but she believes it’s her attention to their inner being that gives them their lifelike quality in her paintings. She travels widely for her subjects and is active in supporting endangered birds and their habitat.

With a live model providing inspiration, join fellow artists in an evening figurative drawing session. This non-instructed drop-in session allows you to focus on developing your skill in any preferred medium, capturing shapes, gestures and postures of the figurative form.

Since September, VVAF has been offering monthly art classes online through Zoom! We’re inviting everyone to get creative from the comfort of their own home with the help of some of our favourite arts experts. 

Are you tired of painting with a paintbrush? Would you like to learn a new art technique without ever having to leave your home? If so, you’re in luck! The Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is offering an online art class with Sky Lilah on November 19th from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. This unique class will teach you how to paint with a palette knife and add dimension, proportions, and color to your paintings! Join us now to create your very own portrait.

Learn how to exhibit artwork online which currently during the pandemic presents challenges with Facilitator Holly Chang. Gain knowledge on how to display your art online through various platforms and websites. Master how to create and exhibit your artwork in AR/VR through CoSpaces EDU.

We are hosting a Panel Discussion: Culturally Relevant Conversations for K-12 Educators with Audrey Hudson from the Art Gallery of Ontario as the moderator.
