Join Expressive Brush Art Studio at the Riverside Library for an exciting watercolour class where children ages 5 and up. Materials are provided and the class is free!

The Art Gallery of Ontario hosts a series of workshops called Writing Explorations that teach participants self-expression in written and visual forms. This session is hosted by Dr. Wendy O'Brien, a Hamilton-based artist educator and philosopher.  Dr. O'brien will work with students as they create writings that reflect their impressions of selected artwork inspired by the exhibition Photography 1920s-1940s: Women in Focus. This workshop is suitable for beginners.

Join artist Katie Lardner in a workshop to create beautiful nature scenes with needle felting! The cost is $20.00-$25.00 with supplies provided and no experience necessary.

Join instructor and contemporary Indigenous artist Holly Pichette for an afternoon of traditional Cree inspired birch back beading! Cost is $30.00 for adults, and $25.00 for students and seniors.

My Public Art and Design is an exciting and FREE workshop that allows participants to explore architecture, design, and community building. Participants will choose a pre-selected design that teaches participants introductory architectural principles, such as scale, space and time, texture, colour, and shape.

This workshop is open to kids of all ages, but is most suitable for kids aged 9 to 15.

Participants are asked to bring:

a pair of scissors
glue stick
sketchpad with white pages
graphite and pencil crayons
phone camera (if possible)

Our annual summer music camp traditionally takes place the third full week of August for about 150 youth ages 6 & up!  Each participant can choose to take two of the following workshops:  Inuit drum dancing, Throat Singing, Accordion, Fiddle, Guitar, Percussion, Xylophone, Bucket Drumming, Ukelele, Recorder, Songs & Games, Choir, or Step Dance.

Each day youth will receive two hours of instruction in each workshop choice, opportunities to hear professional musicians, and participate in supervised recreation breaks.

Looking for a unique summer experience for your child? Artbarn School has ten weeks of super fun & educational camp! Each week has a different arty theme that will guide our learning & projects. Spend a half or full day with us exploring culturally significant artists & artworks. Campers will have opportunity to try a broad range of media from painting to drawing to sculpture. For ages 4-11 years.

Full day – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm 

Half day mornings – 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
