MASC is embarking on a new journey and is pleased to present its new Online Program offered to schools, senior’s venues and communities. Now, more than ever we need access to cultural and artistic experiences to enrich our lives in meaningful ways and incite creativity, while preserving both, health and social distancing. Our new reality demands the adaption and integration of new technologies in the cultural and educational sector, and MASC is excited to contribute to the development of this new field.

Learning resources, including an extensive library of NSO arrangements, PowerPoint presentations, and classroom activities, are available for free! Resources are matched to NL Department of Education Music Curriculum outcomes.

The Education and Outreach program is a diverse, comprehensive program which brings NSO musicians into schools as well as bringing schools and community groups to concerts and other activities with the NSO.

Instructions for young people to make their own xylophones, buzzing brass mouthpieces, string instruments, woodwind instruments, maracas, tin can telephones, clay pot chimes, or coffee can drums.

Orchestras Canada hosts a wealth of resources for orchestral managers, musicians and board members on a range of topics. Many of the materials have been presented at conferences, workshops and meetings, as well as numerous other useful resources that can be applied to orchestras of all kinds.

MusiCounts has created a new program to help teachers and parents keep students engaged with music education at home. MusiCounts Learn is a space for teachers and parents to #StayInTune with the latest resources and conversations around music education in Canada. This will help ensure more kids have access to music education, both inside and outside the classroom.
